Accounting Specialist

Job Description

Randolph Communications is seeking a hard-working, experienced Accounting Specialist. As an Accounting Specialist, you will serve as backup for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Additionally, you will complete account analysis, maintain detailed budget spreadsheets, and perform other accounting tasks as needed. The Accounting Specialist will support the Financial Director and work closely with other members of the accounting department to create a team-oriented environment.

Essential Job Functions:

• Records financial transactions into the accounting system in an accurate and efficient
manner.
• Perform data entry/spreadsheet maintenance, and assist with monthly account
analysis.
• Prepare reports to measure financial trends and performance of different service
areas.
• Assists the Customer Care Consultant department with daily balancing of bank
deposits, payments, and billing adjustments.
• Provide backup support to payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
• May assist the Financial Director with annual audit by gathering and organizing
financial documents and provided support to auditors during the process.
• Supports Financial Director with annual budgets and forecasts, monitor actual
performance against budgeted accounts.
• Complies with accounting standards with respect to federal, state, and local
regulations.
• Prepare/Maintain Escheat tracking and reporting.
• Experience with Capital Credits is a plus.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Strong knowledge of telephony accounting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of telecommunication facilities and practices.
• Knowledge of company products and services.
• Ability to analyze and evaluate data with problem-solving skills.
• Strong ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, & Outlook).
• Efficiently maintaining and operating various types of office equipment.
• Excellent oral and communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail skills with the ability to learn and grasp new
concepts.
• Ability to work independently or as a team player.
• Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a
professional and courteous manner.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in accounting with at least 3 years’ experience or
the equivalent of on the job experience.
• 2+ years’ experience with payroll, AP, and general ledger preferred.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
