NTCA Urges CISA to Limit Cyber Incident Reporting and Record Retention Requirements

(July 3) In comments filed with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), NTCA emphasized the importance of clearly defining and limiting the information small- and medium-sized broadband providers must file in the days immediately following a cyber incident to ensure these providers can devote their resources to responding to and recovering from the incident. NTCA also urged CISA to minimize the amount and length of time providers must retain data and records related to a cyber incident to the data and records that could reasonably be useful in alerting other entities to methods of guarding against similar types of incidents.
