While positive cases have continued their downward trend for the moment, testing for COVID-19 continues to be an important way to limit the spread of the virus. As of April 1, 2022, participants enrolled in a GHP medical plan can visit their local retail pharmacy participating with Express Scripts for at-home COVID-19 tests at no upfront costs during the national health emergency.* The Express Scripts Pharmacy also offers a convenient online ordering option that will deliver tests directly to participants’ homes. This benefit of the GHP medical plan covers up to eight at-home COVID-19 tests during a 30-day period per individual during this time.
Utilizing Express Scripts pharmacies allows immediate, no-cost access to COVID-19; however, participants may be reimbursed up to $12 per test if purchased through other retailers. Simply complete and submit the Express Scripts Prescription Drug Reimbursement Form to Express Scripts. Go to the NTCA Benefits Program Coronavirus Resource Center for easy access to the claim instructions and other information regarding COVID-19 vaccinations and testing kits.
*Participants who have Medicare as their primary payer and GHP as their secondary payer will not be able to access the Express Scripts program. However, as of April 4, 2022 Medicare beneficiaries can get free OTC COVID-19 tests through the federal government program.
