Northwood Technical College recently announced that Lynn Bender, director of engineering at Mosaic Technologies (Cameron, Wis.), was named a recipient of its 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award.
Bender, a 1999 graduate of the Auto Collision Repair and Refinish program and a 2003 graduate of the Telecommunications Technician program, said he felt Northwood Tech helped him with real life experiences by being able to go to construction sites and having instructors who emphasized the background behind telecommunications and how it should be executed.
“Never stop learning, never stop growing,” said Bender, a first-generation graduate from the school. “Keep pushing yourself to do things you never thought you could imagine.”
NTCA members interested in furthering their skills can also take advantage of a recent collaboration between Northwood Technical College and NTCA. The technical college provides online courses that can be paired with apprentice-type training at NTCA member companies to help overcome workforce challenges that so many are facing. Participants enjoy access to Broadband Academy training for Broadband Customer Service Specialist and Broadband Installer credentials unique to NTCA members.
