Gary Owen

Chief Information Security Officer, Wells Fargo

Gary Owen is Wells Fargo’s chief information security officer and head of information and cybersecurity. In this role, he oversees cyber defense and monitoring, security engineering, identity and access management, line-of-business engagement, and information security risk assessment. Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2019, Gary served as chief information security officer at WarnerMedia (formerly Time Warner). Before joining WarnerMedia, Gary developed and led the cybersecurity and technology risk practice at Promontory Financial Group. Gary is a previous chairman and vice chairman of the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC). He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Vermont and is based in New York City.
