Ian is responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Hill’s newsroom, including its print issue and online coverage. He has been an editor at The Hill for more than a decade and started as a reporter covering international trade and Congress. Ian has worked closely with dozens of reporters and editors in guiding The Hill’s coverage of politics and policy on a daily basis.
Ian is a North Dakota native with a background in journalism. He began his career by launching an arts and entertainment publication in Grand Forks, N.D., before covering the North Dakota legislature for the Grand Forks Herald. In Washington, he covered the World Trade Organization’s Doha negotiations and the development of several bilateral trade deals under President George W. Bush.
