NTCA Proposes Steps to Foster Consumer Access to Independent Programming

(June 6) NTCA filed comments with the FCC noting that marketplace obstacles such as the use of most favored nation and unreasonable alternative distribution method provisions may hinder independent programmers from reaching consumers. Equally challenging are the use of bundling and tiering arrangements that drive up end-user rates. The FCC should prohibit these actions, as it is the most direct step to foster consumer access to independent programming.
