General Summary:
Kentec Communications, Inc. (KCI) based in Sterling Colorado, is looking to hire a Business Systems Technician who will be responsible for quoting, selling and installing the company’s products and services to business customers, with a primary emphasis on selling and installing hosted IP phone solutions, circuits, surveillance and security systems, to business customers. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong technical, business, communication, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Sells business solutions by identifying, researching, and developing relationships with existing and potential business customers.
- Defines potential customer needs, finds solutions, develops proposals and sales presentations, closes the sale, and completes the installation.
- Follows up on sales leads from technicians, front office staff, advertisements, and promotions.
- Maintains relationships with existing customer base and capitalizes on any new sales opportunities by introducing new technologies, products and services.
- Ensures customer satisfaction by providing prompt, quality products and services together with customer education.
- Provides excellent customer service and communicates with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner, and acts as liaison for all account issues.
- Works with school districts, hospitals, etc. on FCC E-Rate bids.
- Trains co-workers on products and services.
- Assists with installation of residential services when necessary.
- Assists outside plant co-workers when needed.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four to five years of technical telecommunications experience.
- Computer literacy including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Skills Required:
- Working knowledge of hosted IP phone solutions, circuits, security, Smart Home and monitoring systems, analog and digital communications technology, central office equipment, IP protocol, and LAN/WAN technology, software, hardware and servers.
- Sales and communication skills
Ability to:
- Interpret technical documents related to this position.
- Create business proposals/quotes.
- Provide training.
- Work independently and make sound decisions.
- Organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
Benefits & Compensation Plan:
Salary range: $25.00 - $35.00/hour or commensurate with experience and qualifications.
