Position Title: General Manager at Coleman County Telephone Cooperative

Overview: 

Coleman County Telephone Cooperative (CCTC), a leading rural broadband carrier, is seeking a dynamic and visionary General Manager to direct its overall operations. This critical role involves positioning CCTC both strategically and tactically within the rapidly evolving broadband industry. As the main interface with the Board of Directors, the General Manager will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of CCTC. 

CCTC is a rural broadband carrier offering a variety of services to several Texas communities including Santa Anna and Coleman. Centrally located in the heart of Texas, these small towns are in close proximity to Abilene, but with the advantages of rural living, including great schools and abundant hunting, fishing and recreation opportunities and quick access to major shopping centers. CCTC is a technology and community focused company, providing the latest advancements in the communities they provide service. With 16 employees and approximately 1,900 rural customers, the company serves a majority of members with a fiber-to-the-premise network and is in the process of expanding fiber connections. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Direct the overall operations of CCTC, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Board of Directors. 
  • Position CCTC effectively within the rural broadband industry.
  • Achieve both short-term and long-term corporate objectives. 
  • Foster an environment that promotes staff teamwork, communication, and responsive customer service. 
  • Maintain strong relations with the public, management, and employees. 

General Qualifications: 

  • In-depth knowledge of the rural broadband industry. 
  • Familiarity with successful practices and procedures in rural broadband companies or equivalent entities. 
  • Proven track record of achieving corporate objectives across various technology platforms. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and managerial skills. 
  • Ability to build and maintain effective board relations. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills for successful interaction with the public, management, and employees. 

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Prior rural broadband company leadership experience. 
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulatory processes. 
  • Familiarity with inside and outside plant operations. 
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Communications Commission’s programs for federal universal service support, including understanding obligations, reporting requirement, and strategic opportunities. 

Education Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, or associated field of study, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • A minimum of ten years in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
