(May 21) NTCA CEO Shirley Bloomfield sent a letter to National Telecommunications and Information Administration Administrator Alan Davidson outlining NTCA’s concerns with the development and implementation of the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program. Specifically, the letter addresses NTCA members’ concerns about the size of project service areas, the low-cost option and potential rate mandates, the weighting of matching funds in BEAD scoring as well as incorrect broadband maps.
